:: Nope, but I think it could be benefitial to have one.

OkeyDoke. I have wrested control of #gcc on irc.openprojects.net
from the cold, dead hands of the zombie who had it registered.
(If gcc/gcj/etc folks start using it actively, I will be more than
happy to pass the ownership on to someone closer to the political
core of the group.)
So here's a warm invite to anyone who is actively involved in the
GNU compiler suite and/or it's run-time libraries: If you want
some real-time brain-to-brain on GCC issues, fire up your fave
IRC client (or telnet, if you're a Real Man (tm)) and
 /server irc.openprojects.net
 /join #gcc
I wanted the channel on OPN because it is a well maintained network,
focussed on supporting open source projects. Lots of smart folks,
active in developing free software (and Free Software, in many cases)
hang out there.
I went with #gcc because I thought the broader community would be a be
more viable user base for start-up. If usage gets too high, we can
fork off a new #gcj.
For the next few days (except tomorrow) I'll make a point of lurking
there from ca. 11am to ca. 2am CST. Be forewarned: If I recognize you
from the mailing lists as cool-headed contributor, I'll probably
register you with ChanServ as an operator without so much as a
by-your-leave.
