Great. I heard that the legal aspect surrounding JINI were quite
discouraging as far as writing a JINI clone -- I haven't looked at
these legal aspects yet. What's your opinion?

Is Ninja RMI what you were relying on to build this partial JINI?
We unfortunately don't have a RMI yet.
