help - serialization support in libgcj?

Hi,
Why is that the java ObjectInputStream and ObjectOutputStream classes
not supported by libgcj? Is there any native implementations that could
be used along with the existing libgcj (I am using libgcj and gcj
version 2.96). I have been trying to convert my java code to Linux
native code for use in an embedded linux environment. Since the
ObjectInputStream and ObjectOutputStream classes are used in many
places in the code i find it hard to do the coversion since these
classes are not supported by libgcj. Is there any workaround for this
problem. Any pointers regarding these would be very much helpful.
