rpath

I just found out that some of my email was silently dropped by
sourceware. This is a resend.
Occasionally someone mentions that gcj should automatically pass
-rpath to the linker. For instance see PR gcj/196.
I seem to remember that there is a reason we don't want to do this.
Can somebody refresh my memory as to what it is? If so I will add a
note to the FAQ about it.
If there is no reason (I can't remember it or come up with one) then
I'll just go ahead and make the obvious change.
