Hi, I've searched the archives, and have not found anything that seemed to
relate to this problem.
I'm building gcc-2.95.2 and building in gcc-2.95.2.tar.gz gcc-chill-2.95.2.tar.gz
gcc-core-2.95.2.tar.gz gcc-g++-2.95.2.tar.gz gcc-java-2.95.2.tar.gz gcc-objc-2.95.2.tar.gz
and I would like to build the libgcj-2.95.1.
I've followed the instructions on the web page, but I see the following.
"Makefile", line 1225: Need an operator
make: fatal errors encountered -- cannot continue
*** Error code 1
Stop in /x/gcc-build/objdir.
I have the source in /x/gcc-build/src-name-dir(gcc-2.95.2...)
at the same level is the objdir
I cd to the objdir and invoke the following with no problems.
../libgcj-2.95.1/configure --enable-java-gc=boehm --enable-fast-character --enable-threads=posix
I then do the make and see the above.
Thank you for any help with this, we are using the gcc-2.95.2 for many projects, and would like to get the libgcj working, this is running on a FreeBSD 4.0 system on a Dell 600mhz pIII
