I just wanted to let everyone know that I've also done some work on an
AWT implementation. For those interested, I've put up some information
on <URL: http://www.ii.uib.no/~rolfwr/jcnix/ >. The code includes a
general 1.3 AWT API implementation including a lot of the
Java2D/awt.image classes, a package of Xlib wrapper classes, a set of
X peer components, implemented using the Xlib classes.
I had some communications with Tom Tromey concerning the possibility
of integrating some of the Java 2D code in libgcj. Unfortunately, I was
busy getting my masters degree at the time, so I didn't have time to
follow up on it.
I've had some free time lately to continue development, and I've sent
off the copyright assignment paperwork to FSF. So, if someone is
interested, I'll be happy to work towards making portions of the code
I have suitable for inclusion in libgcj.
