more build problems, sun sparc solaris 2.7

Solaris is known not to build and was advertised as such. x86/linux
should build. What are you seeing?

Alex Oliva came up with a patch. And our past toplevel configure.in
changes made sure libjava would be built only when knowingly asking
for it.
