Regarding the updated FAQ...
I may have missed, but in case I didn't:
* I didn't see any comment about the undocumented but necessary -fno-rtti (sp.?)
* There is a comment, "compile with libgcj -O2". however, there are no released
versions with which this works (or at least that I know of...)
* There is no documentation about where/when gcj will scan .java files when
looking for information about referenced classes and there are no
.class files available. Is it classpath? "Enquiring minds
want to know"
* It may be worth noting that the behavior of "gcj -C" is not at all like
javac or jikes, which will compile (not just scan) all .java's which are
out of date with regard to their .class's. I spent quite a few hours
trying to figure out gcj's view of the world in this (and other) regards.
A section on "differences between gcj and javac" might be useful.
* Is there a comment "Make sure the classpath that gcj sees does NOT include
a classes.zip from some java distribution or your program will fail in
bizarre and mysterious ways"?
