That's not what the comment says. The comment refers to *static*
libstdc++, and it has indeed caused problems on Solaris. That's
probably something that's going to be fixed in the near future of
libtool, at least in the multi-language branch.

Then try to build libstdc++ without --enable-shared and then create a
couple of shared libraries with g++ -shared
But if you assume a shared libstdc++, your patch is absolutely
correct.
