Aaron Shraga Lopiansky dit Aaron (parfois écrit Ahron) Lopiansky (en hébreu, אהרן שרגא לופיאנסקי), né le à Manhattan, New York, est un rabbin orthodoxe américano-israélien, posek (décideur en matière de loi juive) et rosh yeshiva (directeur d'étude) à la Yeshiva of Greater Washington, à Silver Spring au Maryland. Il est l'auteur de plus de vingt ouvrages consacrés à la pensée de la Torah, à la liturgie et à la philosophie.

Biographie

Aaron Lopiansky est né le 1er septembre 1953 à Manhattan, New York et grandit dans le Lower East Side. Il est le fils du rabbin Bentzion Lopiansky et de Esther Raizel Berliner[1] (née le 15 décembre 1921[2] et morte le 14 juin 2016 à Silver Spring (Maryland), Maryland [3] ), survivants de la Shoah. Il a un frère Aryeh Leib. Lopiansky[4] .

Aaron Lopiansky épouse Yaffa Finkel, fille du Rosh Yeshiva de la Yeshiva de Mir, Binyomin Beinush Finkel. Les autres gendres de ce dernier sont les rabbins Nosson Tzvi Finkel, Binyomin Carlebach, Nachman Levovitz et Yisroel Glustein, donc beaux-frères d'Aaron Lopianky.

Il étudie à l'école juive de son quartier, Rabbi Jacob Joseph School.

Aaron Lopiansky enseigne à la Yeshiva Aish HaTorah de 1983 à 1990[5] . Il enseigne à la Yeshiva de Mir, de 1990 à 1995.

Le rabbin Ahron Lopiansky est le Rosh Yeshiva de la Yeshiva of Greater Washington – Tiferes Gedaliah, depuis juillet 2014[6] ,[7] .
