Fruit

I added a few translations. However I have to say that this thread got somehow confusing as people were adding their contributions on different versions of the list! Please take care!

Also on the list I decided to use there are all kind of fancy fruit names listed while more "normal" fruits are missing! Even though I recognize that "normal" depends much on the region one is from, I would prefer to have a complete list than just some very strange fruit names.

In any case, nice idea and thanks to all contributors.

I fixed the formatting on the glossary and added columns for definition, Part of Speech and gender of word. There are some blanks for the French and Italian section.

Other languages: Feel free to join! You'll have to add a column for your language yourself.

Terms that I added to the glossary:
cantaloupe
honeydew
kiwi
starfruit
raisin
grapefruit
nectarine
plantain

I also added and edited some entries for the Spanish column.

I only know the green ones, from our local speciality the 'gooseberry pie' on where they are always green.

The green ones often are just unripe :-D
We had them in the garden and we ate them always but always green I learned by accident when I was about 8ys that they were green because they were still unripe and ripe they were reddish yellow :-D

Its quite the same as Hungarians eat naspolya when brown -i.e. ripe, and Greeks eat them yellow -i.e. unripe.
Welsh names attached, where possible.

For lots of the berries and other fruits that come in bunches (e.g. grapes) I've also added the plural words. Welsh is interesting in that for many fruit names the plural word is shorter than the singular word.
