Contributing in Fortran Wiki
Clearly one can support commercial Fortran compiler vendors by purchasing [[Compilers]] and Fortran authors by purchasing [[Books]]. There are also many other ways to contribute to the Fortran community and to various open source projects: * Answering questions on [[comp.lang.fortran]]. * Answering [Fortran questions](http://stackoverflow.com/questions/tagged/fortran) on [Stack Overflow](http://stackoverflow.com/). * Joining the [Fortran-lang](https://fortran-lang.org/) community on its [Fortran Discourse](https://fortran-lang.discourse.group/), and contributing to its tutorials and its main projects: the fpm Fortran Package Manager and the stdlib Standard Library. * Contributing to the [[FAQ]]. * Contributing to the [Fortran Wikipedia page](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fortran) and other Fortran related pages. Improving the Fortran Wikipedia pages in non-English languages. * Writing articles about Fortran in blogs, academic journals, etc. * Improve the performance of Fortran programs in the [[Computer Language Benchmarks Game]] * GFortran development can be supported by writing documentation, contributing code (see the Contributing section of the [[GFortran]] page), reporting bugs or by taking on a project or extension listed [here](http://gcc.gnu.org/onlinedocs/gfortran/Contributing.html). * Submitting high-quality links to the [Fortran category](https://www.curlie.org/en/Computers/Programming/Languages/Fortran/) of the [Curlie directory](https://www.curlie.org/) (previously DMOZ). * Contributing to [Rosetta Code](http://rosettacode.org/wiki/Reports:Tasks_not_implemented_in_Fortran). ----- Anyone know of a way to financially support GFortran development? Perhaps an earmarked contribution to the Free Software Foundation? [[Jason Blevins]] 14 Sep 2009
