About Flagship Models:
It is with a very heavy heart that I report that Rusty White has passed away.
Apparently, this happened some months ago. Our hearts and prayers are with his family
as they navigate this time. Fail Winds and Following Seas Rusty.
As it stands his product line will likely change hands, hopefully being acquired by an
equally vigilant operator.
As for here at The Floating Drydock, as our remaining stock is expended, we will try to
keep the website updated to reflect inventory status. We WILL NOT take down the
Flagship part of our site. It will leave it up as a resource to modelers and a standing
memorial to Rusty. To understand the care and effort Rusty put into his craft please read
the below statement.
Flagship Models detail parts are created through the magic of what has
commonly been called photo etching. In short, the master drawings are
transferred to brass or stainless-steel sheet. They are then chemically etched
to produce the final product which allows us at Flagship to produce extremely
fine detail and raised etch relief. Flagship Models utilizes 3D CAD technology
in the design of our detail parts. This computer technology allows us to test
fit our details while still in the computer. We are currently updating all sets
utilizing this technology. We at Flagship Models design our detail sets by ship
class. This specific design insures at least 85% of the parts go on the model,
not in your spares box. Not only can Flagship Models detail sets be used on new
models but they can be used to upgrade already built models. Flagship Models
details, while intended for use by experienced modelers, can be applied by
beginners with a little practice. All of Flagship Models ?Detail Sets?
contain enough parts to completely detail one model with some left over.
?Super Detail Sets? go the extra mile above our ?Detail Sets?. There are
enough parts to detail one model while other kit parts are replaced with
superior photo etched ones such as mast structures, Helicopter rotors, landing
gear, etc. Compare our details sets to all others and you will never be
satisfied with anything less than Flagship Models.

my new USS Keokuk and the raised relief shows up GREAT. I was so
impressed, I decided to stock them. These details are perfect for adding
detail to hulls or replacing sanded off rivets on ships, armor, and AC models.
There are three different sizes.008, .011, .014 diameter ). A total of
almost 100 linear inches of rivets with three different spacing (pitch) on each
4.5" x 2.75" sheet. You may apply them in strips for perfect,
pre-spaced rivets, in groups, or one at a time.

Decal 05 Resin Cast Perfect Weld Seams
This is a new product that makes GREAT looking welded seams just like on real
ships EASY. This new process is literally resin cast seams in the pattern
of welds with raised relief on a clear sheet of decal film, so they apply just
as you would decals. I used them on my own ship models and the raised relief
shows up GREAT. I was so impressed, I decided to stock them. These
details are perfect for adding detail to hulls or replacing sanded off details
on ships, armor, and AC models. It's difficult to see in the photo,
but the seams are made up of chevron style welds with raised relief that when
applied under the model paint, look stunningly real. There are three
different sizes of seams on each 4.5" x 2.75" sheet.

This is a full sheet of the middle-size rivets on DECAL 03. This is a new
