The barrel is threaded 5/8-24 for mounting a suppressor or muzzle brake, and if no device is desired, a knurled
thread protector makes that feature all but invisible.
I added a rubber O-ring to the barrel to set between the barrel and
thread protector to allow good tightening but easy removal as the
thread protector must be removed to remove the barrel from the slide during routine maintenance.
The barrel is threaded for either a suppressor or muzzle brake, but now has a
thread protector on it.
Parts kits have contained either a simple
thread protector or the slanted AKM type compensator.
The muzzle is threaded for an aftermarket muzzle brake or a suppressor, and a
thread protector comes with the rifle.
My only other problem was that the
thread protector continually worked loose, although I never tightened it Superman-level force.
The stainless, fluted heavy sporter barrel is threaded with 0.625-inch - 24 TPI suppressor threads and supplied with a muzzle brake and
thread protector. It's available in 6mm Creedmoor, 6.5 Creedmoor, .308 Win., 300 WSM, 26 Nosler, 7mm Rem.
The barrel's muzzle is threaded with the 1/2" X28 universal thread-pitch for easy installation of a compensator or suppressor, and a
thread protector is included.
Both pistols come standard with screw-on
thread protector ring.
The only thing testers noticed about the barrel they didn't love was the lack of included
thread protector. However, this is a non-issue for shooters who aren't planning on replacing their factory barrel with the SilencerCo one for everyday use.
The included
Thread Protector with carabiner makes it easy to carry the hook into the woods and keeps the threads from damaging your pack or clothes in transit.
