Rab Nawaz, Director WWFPakistan lauded the efforts of the fishermen for releasing entangled
sunfish which may be first effort of such a kind in the Indian Ocean.
Orangespotted
sunfish and age-0 carp, black crappie, yellow perch, and bluegill were sampled on Jul.
The smallest depth ratio of all fish collected came from flathead catfish (0.10), while the largest depth ratio came from redear
sunfish (0.37).
"All it took were two
Sunfish sailboats that were ready for the landfill, a little work and a little money to get a great gunning duck boat in return," Lewis said.

sunfish Lepomis megalotis, Rio Grande cichlids Cichlosoma cyanoguttatum, and introduced small-mouth bass Micropterus dolomieu.
Meanwhile marine biologist Jill Ireland, who is based at Swansea University, is investigating the washing up of seals, porpoises and creatures such as spiny dogfish,
sunfish and Portuguese man o' war on Welsh beaches.
Jim Farren said: "I've been fishing for 14 years and have seen a lot of
sunfish over the years, but nothing this size.
Green
sunfish (Lepomis cyanellus) are native to the U.S.
The
sunfish was spotted near St Kilda in the Outer Hebrides by the crew of the cruise boat Orca.
SUNFISH Amid banter between the two Greek owners and the customers,
Sunfish serves up delicate, paper-wrapped cod, halibut, wild salmon, and shellfish.
But the annual catch sank below 10 tons three years ago after reaching a peak of 180 tons in 1995, mainly because of the introduction of alien species such as black bass and bluegill
sunfish.
Harbor seals weigh about as much as the typical blind date, but at about two tons or so, the ocean
sunfish is pretty hard to avoid.
