Inheritance of stolon development, rhizome development and
setigerous lemmas in the Digitaria milanjiana complex, and its taxonomic significance.
Body size was determined by counting the number of
setigerous segments and measuring body length with an ocular micrometer at 6.4 or 16 x.
Elytral striae represented by shallowly impressed, shining double lines, interrupted by small punctures separated by 2-3 diam of a puncture; intervals on disc with sparse, minute, simple punctures; lateral intervals with small,
setigerous tubercles, setae erect and minute.

setigerous tubercles Acalypta Westwood
The number of
setigerous segments is always 16; setigers 1-3 only have notosetae; setigers 4-15 have uncini and notosetae, aud setiger 16 only notosetae; the last segment bears a reduced parapodium which lacks setae.
The relationship of maximum clearance rate to body volume was estimated for larvae of Armandia brevis with 6 to 16
setigerous segments.
Head with 4
setigerous punctures, located one in front each eye, and one on each jugum.
