When a threat is identified the optimal
intercept point is automatically calculated, the countermeasures assembly is opened and an interceptor is launched which forms a 'beam' of fragments to intercept the threat at a range of 10 to 30 metres from the vehicle.
In order to do that, we'd have to make a wide arc through the thick brush as quickly as possible and get to the
intercept point within a matter of minutes.
"After a long night and with a tired crew, we had a couple of hours of again trying to get the drill bit into the washover pipe at the
