Above the boundary, coarse-grained sandstone composed of feldspars and quartz was identified as the incised valley filling in the lowstand systems tract (LST), while under the boundary, bituminous siltstone
interbedded with silty mudstone was deposited in a lakeshore environment.
The Capacho Formation (Upper Cretaceous - Figure 2) is mainly composed of dark-gray to black shales,
interbedded with fossiliferous limestones, laminated limestone and much less proportion fine-grained arenites and siltstones (ECOPETROL, 2012).
The lower unit ([J.sub.1t3]) consists of grayish-green mudstones and siltstones
interbedded with very fine- to fine-grained sandstones.
Detailed Geological Map of Poland indicates that the rocks immune to erosion can be classified as Cisna bed sandstones (Oligocene)
interbedded by shales and mudstones (Jankowski and Slaczka, 2014).
This cliff is underlain and overlain by pack-grainstone packages and these packages are
interbedded with wackepackstones.
The interval between 854 and 875.5 m is composed of
interbedded, laminated grey mudrocks and blocky greenish-grey mudrocks, both of which appear to have been overprinted by pedogenic processes.
It comprises bioclastic packstone/grainstone deposited as distal to proximal mid-ramp carbonate tempestites,
interbedded with fairweather calcareous shale (Facies 6).
The lithological variations in the Nammal Formation divided it into four well defined unitsas follows; i) Alternate marl and limestone ii) Well-bedded limestone with chert nodules iii) Limestone
interbedded with shale iv) Dolomitic limestone.
Within the dark gray to brown anhydrite
interbedded dolomudstone evaporite unit of the Birdbear Formation lie three organic rich intervals ranging from 3.81-63.5 cm and abundant smaller (0.35-1.2 mm) beds.
Geologically Nagthat- Berinag Formation of Jaunsar Group of rocks ( types of rocks) containing mainly Karnaprayag metavolcanics ( rocks) and
interbedded quartzites ( type of rocks) are exposed between Karnaprayag and Begali.
