--the charges 1 and 2 were treated with greater quantities (identical for the two charges) of nodulizing modifier, FeSiMgCe(RE) and with same amount of
graphitizing modifiers, but different from the chemical composition point of view: FeSi--charge 1 and FeSiSr--charge2;
and Taylor, G.H.: 1965, The formation of
graphitizing carbons from the liquid phase, Carbon 2, 185-186.
In [4] general scheme of SER temperature dependence of carbon materials within temperature range from 273 K to the temperature zone of their complete
graphitizing is proposed (Figure 1).
Moreover, chill can be reduced by raising carbon equivalent, and by adding silicon (pointed out earlier), inoculants, and
graphitizing elements.
The company has hundreds of combined years of experience with coreless and channel furnaces as well as large induction heating and
graphitizing equipment.
SCMG is produced by first processing raw material of carbon with SDK's proprietary technology to optimize its shape as anode material, and heating it at high temperatures in a special
graphitizing furnace.
For all the cast iron charges studied, in order to obtain a graphite modification, we used the same type of
graphitizing modifier (FeSiSr), in sufficient percentage, in order to obtain the silicon percentage necessary.
In July 2007, the Company completed a new line of
graphitizing furnace at its Omachi Plant in Japan.
Ark[R] electrodes benefit from a unique continuous
graphitizing technology that imparts very uniform and consistent properties on each piece.
As a result, a new line of
graphitizing furnace will be completed at the Omachi Plant, Japan, in July and expanded facilities will start up at Showa Denko Carbon, Inc., in the U.S., in the second half of this year.
