Some proponents of
chelation therapy say that it can improve blood flow in the arteries by removing the calcium from plaque that has built up on the artery walls.
Hence from this data we cannot conclude that DMSA or EDTA are suitable for barium
chelation. More studies and evaluations are needed.

Treatment of patients with b-thalassemia major includes long term blood transfusions, iron
