That portion of the flight path which extends from the point where a descent is started to the point where the aircraft touches down on the runway.

approach path
A specific flight course laid out in the vicinity of an airport and designed to bring aircraft in to a safe landing. It is usually delineated by suitable navigational aids. The approach path lies within the approach funnel.
