Tiench’ih
a lake in China, situated in a mountain basin on the Yunnan Plateau. Altitude, approximately 1,900 m; area, approximately 500 sq km. It is drained by the P’utu River, a tributary of the Yangtze. The lake is important for shipping and fishing. The city of K’ung-ming is located near the northern shore.
