Rustenburg

a city in the Transvaal, Republic of South Africa. Population, 33,000 (1969). Rustenburg is linked by a railroad branch line with the Pretoria-Johannesburg line. It has significant platinum, chromite, and nickel mining. It has tobacco factories and food enterprises. Citrus fruits, tobacco, and cotton are grown in the vicinity of Rustenburg.
