Japanese Spaniel
a breed of dog bred mainly as a pet. The Japanese spaniel was developed in ancient China and was subsequently brought to Japan. The breed has been known in Europe since the 19th century. It is a small dainty dog, 18–20 cm tall. The body is square, and the head spherical, with a convex forehead, a flattened nose, and large bulging eyes. The ears are small and pendant; the tail is often thrown over the back without forming a ring. The straight and silky fur is long, especially on the ears, tail, and legs. The coloring is white with symmetrical black, red, and brown spots. The Japanese spaniel is distributed throughout the world.
