Corinto
a city and the principal maritime port of Nicaragua, handling two-thirds of the country’s foreign trade. On the Pacific coast in the department of Chinandega. Population, 10,000 (1968). It is the center of a region of plantation agriculture. Coffee and sugar are among the exported products, and imports include machinery and manufactured goods.
