Wikipedia:Good article review pledges

The Good Article nomination process relies on having as many reviews performed as there are nominations to avoid having a long backlog. To speed things along, some users make pledges to review other articles once their own nomination is under review.

• When my article gets reviewed, I will review one other article.
• When my article gets reviewed, I will review one other article, giving priority to nominations with review pledges.
• When my article gets reviewed, I will review two other articles.
• When my article gets reviewed, I will review two other articles, one of them with a review pledge if possible.
• When my article gets reviewed, I will review an old nomination.
• When my article gets reviewed, I will review a nomination by a newbie.

Please add your own. Anything goes as long as it involves promising at least one review. The pledge system works best if most pledges give priority to other nominations with pledges, though.

Use the |note= field in {{GA nominee}} on the talk page of your article after making a nomination. For example, you could use

|note=I [[WP:GARP|pledge]] that when this article gets reviewed, I will review two other articles, one of them with a review pledge if possible.

A link to this page is appreciated, but of course optional. The word "pledge" must be included so the bot can identify it.

When you use User:SD0001/GAN-helper to add the GAN template to the talk page, a blank |note= field is automatically generated as the second to last field (before |shortdesc=). Be careful not to duplicate the |note= field, it confuses the bot.

The bot will automatically list your pledge in the section #Automatic list of open pledges and remove it once your nomination is under review. To better keep track of pledges, we also have a manually curated list at #Semi-manual pledge tracker; please list your pledges there if you can.

When you start the review(s) you have pledged, please link back to the review of your article to make it easier to find. Typical text to use is This review is part of my [[WP:GARP|pledge]] for the review at [[Talk:Example/GA1]].

We are trying to make the pledge tracker as easy to maintain as possible. Suggestions for improvement are welcome on the talk page.

The following is a list of known pledges made under this system. When you make a pledge, please add it to the bottom of the list using {{GARP}}. When you start the reviews you have pledged, please add these to the |plrevs= parameter in {{GARP}}. If you have made a link to the review of your article on your pledged reviews, it will be easy to find using the "(links)" link below; the "(check)" link shows the nominator's recent page creations in Talk space, which should include any reviews started.

The archive is sorted by date of archiving (oldest at the top, newest at the bottom), which should happen when all pledged reviews have been started. See /Archive for older archived pledges, some of them using a slightly different format.
