Information icon Hi, VoltantCrow. I noticed that you added or changed content in an article, University of Queensland Press, but you didn't provide a reliable source, and you added commentary that did not maintain a neutral point of view. On Wikipedia, it's important that article content be verifiable and without editorial bias. Thank you. — Preceding unsigned comment added by ~2026-21287-45 (talk) 04:25, 24 April 2026 (UTC) [reply ]

I quoted directly from the article. Sorry that you are upset with that. You can keep undoing a sourced edit but I will keep putting it back up until someone feels like explaining why >direct quotes< are an unacceptable thing to put on an article. Thanks! VolantCrow (talk) 04:41, 24 April 2026 (UTC) [reply ]
Just because something is verifiable does not necessarily mean it belongs in a given article. Chess enjoyer (talk) 04:44, 24 April 2026 (UTC) [reply ]
See, much more fair comment, but why would it not be relevant? His >direct quotes< are directly responsible for why the book was cancelled. To say it was about "not expressing grief with victims" is not why the book removed. The book was removed because he went above and beyond any reasonable sense, saying that Zionists control media and that said Zionists are using racist "Orientalist" tropes by talking about getting massacred. VolantCrow (talk) 04:51, 24 April 2026 (UTC) [reply ]
You provided two sources. One was unrelated and the other is not a reliable source, and gave additional commentary that comes across as WP:RGW. I have fully protetcted the article for two days; please discuss at the article talk page to establish a WP:CONSENSUS. - The Bushranger One ping only 05:04, 24 April 2026 (UTC) [reply ]
While I appreciate you protecting the article, The Bushranger, wouldn't commenting on the substance of the edits make you involved? Chess enjoyer (talk) 05:07, 24 April 2026 (UTC) [reply ]
One directly contrasted what said person lied about in their article, the other was straight up using their words. Whatever this righting great wrongs thing is, it clearly isn't enforced in the slightest lmao VolantCrow (talk) 08:51, 24 April 2026 (UTC) [reply ]
Regardless, the issue is significantly more contextual now on the page than it was when I first came across it. So. Works for me. VolantCrow (talk) 08:56, 24 April 2026 (UTC) [reply ]

Information icon Hi VolantCrow! I noticed that you've made several edits in order to restore a version of University of Queensland Press. The impulse to repeatedly undo an edit you disagree with is understandable, but I wanted to make sure that you're aware of Wikipedia's edit warring policy. Repeatedly undoing the changes made by other users in a back-and-forth fashion like this is disallowed, even if you feel what you're doing is justifiable.

All editors are expected to discuss content disputes on article talk pages in order to try to reach a consensus with the other editors involved. If you are unable to come to an agreement at Talk:University of Queensland Press, please use one of the dispute resolution options that are available in order to seek input from others. Using this approach instead of repeatedly reverting other editors' changes can help you avoid getting drawn into edit wars. Thank you. Chess enjoyer (talk) 04:51, 24 April 2026 (UTC) [reply ]

Stop icon You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war. This means that you are repeatedly reverting content back to how you think it should be, despite knowing that other editors disagree. Once it is known that there is a disagreement, users are expected to collaborate with others, avoid editing disruptively, and try to reach a consensus – rather than repeatedly reverting the changes made by other users.

Important points to note:

  1. Edit warring is disruptive behavior – regardless of how many reverts you have made;
  2. Do not engage in edit warring – even if you believe that you are right.

You need to discuss the disagreement on the article's talk page and work towards a revision that represents consensus among everyone involved. You can post a request for help at an appropriate noticeboard or seek dispute resolution if discussions reach an impasse. In some cases, it may be appropriate to request temporary page protection. If you continue to engage in edit warring, you may be blocked from editing. Plasticwonder (Cat got your tongue?) 05:00, 24 April 2026 (UTC) [reply ]

I already warned them, @Plasticwonder, along with the unregistered editor. Chess enjoyer (talk) 05:02, 24 April 2026 (UTC) [reply ]

@VolantCrow, here's the link to the talk page for University of Queensland Press. As the admins above have said, can we discuss further edits there?: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Talk:University_of_Queensland_Press — Preceding unsigned comment added by ~2026-21287-45 (talk) 05:48, 24 April 2026 (UTC) [reply ]

I'm not an administrator, and neither is Plasticwonder. I do recommend that you two discuss the issue over there, though. Chess enjoyer (talk) 05:55, 24 April 2026 (UTC) [reply ]

Editorializing

[edit ]

Can you respond to the editor's concerns about editorializing on the talk page? Otherwise you would be edit warring. Plasticwonder (Cat got your tongue?) 04:28, 24 April 2026 (UTC) [reply ]

Introduction to contentious topics

[edit ]

You have recently edited a page related to the Arab–Israeli conflict , a topic designated as contentious . This is a brief introduction to contentious topics and does not imply that there are any issues with your editing.

A special set of rules applies to certain topic areas, which are referred to as contentious topics. These are specially designated topics that tend to attract more persistent disruptive editing than the rest of the project and have been designated as contentious topics by the Arbitration Committee. When editing a contentious topic, Wikipedia's norms and policies are more strictly enforced, and Wikipedia administrators have an expanded level of powers and discretion in order to reduce disruption to the project.

Within contentious topics, editors should edit carefully and constructively, refrain from disrupting the encyclopedia, and:

Additionally, you must be logged in, have 500 edits, and have an account age of 30 days, and you are not allowed to make more than 1 revert within 24 hours on any page within this topic.

Editors are advised to err on the side of caution if unsure whether making a particular edit is consistent with these expectations. If you have any questions about contentious topics procedures, you may ask them at the arbitration clerks' noticeboard or you may learn more about this contentious topic. You may also choose to note which contentious topics you know about by using the {{Ctopics/aware }} template.

Your recent deletion of material related to Israeli cultural practices at Freekeh probably falls under the contentious topics restriction. Please do not delete material that is reliably sourced. When tou have garnered 500+ edits you can discuss the matter on talk, or add material that presenta another viewpoint you think is not represented well. Tiamut (talk) 20:36, 20 May 2026 (UTC) [reply ]
I advise you to self-revert. The Jerusalem Quarterly is a reliable source for Wikipedia purposes. Calling the author "a random activist" is inappropriate. You are edit-warring and this will not end well for you if you continue in this manner. Tiamut (talk) 20:42, 20 May 2026 (UTC) [reply ]
Hello! So an American activist associated with BDS, a movement explicitly trying to isolate Israel, would to any logical person, most likely not know what goes in Israeli kitchens. Feel free to find a source that would actually go to Israel to corroborate.
The article was also not written with a Neutral Point of View. Implying a food grown in the region was so "unknown to Israelis" yet is also somehow Israelis stealing Palestinian culture despite non Jewish sources admitting it was common Bible knowledge is so laughably biased that the fact you are on my page trying to flex on me because you don't know the rules of the site is chuckle worthy. VolantCrow (talk) 21:08, 20 May 2026 (UTC) [reply ]
Left several other sources supporting the text you removed on talk. I have also reported your edit-warring here. Tiamut (talk) 06:43, 21 May 2026 (UTC) [reply ]
stop @VolantCrow:, you are not allowed to make edits on topics related to the Arab-Israeli conflict as you are not extended confirmed. Please refrain from doing so again until you are; please note that this includes every page on Wikipedia, including your user talk page. - The Bushranger One ping only 06:55, 21 May 2026 (UTC) [reply ]

Citing sources

So another Wikipedia page with the direct standings isn't a reliable source? VolantCrow (talk) 07:06, 9 May 2026 (UTC) [reply ]
Never. Sources must be cited on every article. Flibirigit (talk) 12:22, 9 May 2026 (UTC) [reply ]
Uh, interesting, considering what I cited was allowed to be cited >literally< the line above and I can find at least 7 team pages with similar information without a citation, but I'll keep that in mind I guess... VolantCrow (talk) 21:39, 9 May 2026 (UTC) [reply ]
