Hi @Векочел I see you've revised some points in the Yan Song article, however, according to Dardess, Xia was appointed a grand secretary in 1536, but remained in his position as Minister of Rites until January 1537 when he left office

• On January 23, 1536, Xia Yan was at last made a grand secretary. Dardess 2016, p.124
• On January 23, 1537, Xia Yan vacated his ministry position,... Dardess 2016, p. 150

In 1540 he incurred the displeasure of the emperor through the publication of a work on the ancient Book of Rites (the Li ji) that apparently contained passages implying criticism of the emperor’s policies regarding certain rituals.
