Scarborough General Hospital (England)Scarborough Hospital – Both NHS England and the Trust itself refer to the hospital as "Scarborough Hospital" - see https://www.nhs.uk/Services/hospitals/overview/DefaultView.aspx?id=91155 and https://www.yorkhospitals.nhs.uk/our-hospitals/scarborough-hospital/ Millstream3 (talk) 10:51, 28 August 2021 (UTC) [reply ]

Possibly a dab page at Scarborough General Hospital, showing the 2 current and one former, and then a hatnote on this one, something like {{for the Canadian hospital previously known as Scarborough Hospital|Scarborough Health Network|similarly titled hospitals|Scarborough General Hospital (disambiguation){{!}}Scarborough General Hospital}}

Hospital Name

[edit ]

Scarborough 'General', is now referred to as just Scarborough Hospital. In relatively recent times it was known (particularly by the NHS staff themselves) as Scarborough General, though not by the public. This was to distinguish the 'General' from other hospital site's in town, these being the now defunct St. Mary's & farther back, St. Thomas's. Cross Lane Hospital is still in existence & is about just over a mile from the Scalby Road 'General' site. Cross Lane Hospital is now a Mental Health facility & seemingly run by a different health trust? Historically the name is correct, it's just a debate whether changes over time mean that Scarborough Hospital, as it is now known by the considerable majority of people, is how the page should be titled? I'm not aware of any confusion which may arise from the current heading. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Nix D (talkcontribs) 19:13, 29 August 2021 (UTC) [reply ]
