Fair use rationale for Image:Nthbullants.jpg
[edit ]Image:Nthbullants.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If there is other other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 05:26, 6 June 2007 (UTC) [reply ]
File:NorthernBullantsJumper.png Nominated for speedy Deletion
[edit ]An image used in this article, File:NorthernBullantsJumper.png, has been nominated for speedy deletion for the following reason: Wikipedia files with no non-free use rationale as of 18 November 2011
- What should I do?
Don't panic; you should have time to contest the deletion (although please review deletion guidelines before doing so). The best way to contest this form of deletion is by posting on the image talk page.
- If the image is non-free then you may need to provide a fair use rationale
- If the image isn't freely licensed and there is no fair use rationale, then it cannot be uploaded or used.
- If the image has already been deleted you may want to try Deletion Review

Preston Football Club (VFL) → Northern Bullants Northern Bullants – Pretty straightforward move I would have thought. While the club is legally the Preston Football Club, it has been playing as the Northern Bullants since 2000, except for a period between 2012 and 2020 when they played as the Northern Blues. I think what happened in 2020 is that a user went to move the page back to Northern Bullants but couldn't, so used 'Preston Football Club (VFL)' as a disambiguation instead. The best comparison point for this is the Western Bulldogs, who while still legally known as the Footscray Football Club, have been playing under their trading name for almost three decades. The Bullants have not played as 'Preston' since 1999 and the name would likely not be known to any football fan under the age of 30. A WP:COMMONNAME move seems appropriate here. - Support. The current common name in reliable sources. Jenks24 (talk) 07:23, 13 October 2023 (UTC) [reply ]

Preston Bullants Football Club → Preston Football Club (VFL) Preston Football Club (VFL) – Club new official name is Preston Football Club with onfield name Preston Bullants. "Preston Bullants Football Club" is certainly wrong and would more likely be thought to refer to Preston Bullants Amateur Football Club; the editor who made the move may have gone this way because the Preston Football Club (with no dab, VFA dab and VFL dab) were all already taken. That leaves just the choice between Preston Football Club (VFA) and Preston Bullants, and consistency with the rest of the AFL project would favour the former. - Comment What about Preston Football Club? It is a disambiguation page right now, but based on a quick glance at the pages listed, this club is the only one with a solely "Preston F.C." name. Otherwise, would support the move to Preston Football Club (VFL) based on exactly what you've said. Totallynotarandomalt69 (talk) 01:46, 27 August 2025 (UTC) [reply ]
- Good point. I've been dabbing this article for so long that I never even realised that the others weren't even called Preston Football Club. Yes, I'd favour Preston Football Club without dab. Aspirex (talk) 09:33, 27 August 2025 (UTC) [reply ]
- Cool! It looks like the current disambiguation page only has a small handful of pages linking to it (although that includes a "Preston Football Club (disambiguation)" redirect, so there might have to be a technical move) but hopefully it is pretty straightforward Totallynotarandomalt69 (talk) 09:39, 27 August 2025 (UTC) [reply ]
- @Aspirex There hasn't been any further comments, would it be worth moving the page (to Preston Football Club without dab) regardless? Unless there's a better way to try and get some more contributions, although it has been almost two weeks. Totallynotarandomalt69 (talk) 04:08, 9 September 2025 (UTC) [reply ]
