Ed's tomahawk toss

[edit ]

Even today, the mere thought of Ed's tomahawk toss on the Tonight Show makes me laugh, even though I've probably seen it a dozen times.

Reading about it now, I see that it might have been deliberate, maybe suggested by Johnny Carson, who might have pressured Ed Ames into it.

I suspect that it was a remarkable accident. I really doubt that he could have hit the target in that specific place if he were trying to! Isn't that clip only seen in black-and-white? I recall that trhe show got wiped, but somebody (maybe Carson himself) had preserved a kinescope of thae scene. WHPratt (talk) 23:01, 27 February 2016 (UTC) [reply ]

Fess Parker?

[edit ]

So who the hell is Fess Parker? The first reference to this person does not explain it. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.122.75.88 (talk) 17:21, 23 April 2008 (UTC) [reply ]

Um, he played Daniel Boone. Don't you have a search engine you could've used to find this out? Pookerella (talk) 04:42, 4 October 2015 (UTC) [reply ]

Mingo, the Man with the Bullwhip

[edit ]

He did an album, "Mingo, the Man with the Bullwhip", but I don't have a citation for this, just my childhood memory of an album I used to have. Does anyone have more information on this?

Also, his album, "My Kind of Songs", isn't listed in the article, yet, but here's the ebay url for it (scroll down). I don't know if ebay is an okay citation, but there's a picture of this album.

Ebay didn't have the album, "Mingo, the Man with the Bullwhip".

"Mingo, the Man with the Bullwhip" is a song from the Ed Ames album "It's A Man's World." Rich (talk) 06:52, 19 July 2015 (UTC) [reply ]

Heritage

[edit ]

Yakut native DNA is found in a population of Jews mostly Baltic region, Ukraine, Poland, Russia, etc. It is said this Asian tribe descends from Siberia and spread throughout Northeastern Europe. Yakuts are also in Iceland and Scandinavia. Ironically, for this article, Yakuts are connected via DNA to several North American native tribes. So, in some way, he was most likely related by DNA to Native Americans, hence the reason for the resemblance. Pookerella (talk) 04:39, 4 October 2015 (UTC) [reply ]

Years Active

[edit ]

Surely he must be retired. There are no singles or albums (other than collections) since the 1970s, and the guy is 93. (Good for him!). Can anyone verify that he doesn't perform anymore? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 108.202.33.17 (talk) 05:07, 8 June 2021 (UTC) [reply ]
