Hello! Thank you for nominating this article for GA review. I can send the review within one week. The points I'll add will eventually expand as I read the article. RFNirmala (talk) 12:41, 15 October 2025 (UTC) [reply ]
- Thanks for taking this on, RFNirmala. Have responded to your comments below. – actuall7 (talk | contrib) 12:17, 19 October 2025 (UTC) [reply ]
- I'll add more comments eventually. By the way, I recommend news sources to supplement ref 3 (the "National Archives of Singapore" interviews). The Weintraub et al source you used also has information you can use to expand the article. I might add a request for a free image of Asiah. RFNirmala (talk) 04:18, 20 October 2025 (UTC) [reply ]
- Would just like to let you know that I’ll be pretty busy these next few days, so please understand if it takes me a while to address your new points. – actuall7 (talk | contrib) 00:26, 21 October 2025 (UTC) [reply ]
- Have addressed your new points and also expanded the article with Weintraub et al. Regarding the use of the NAS interview, it is the only source where I found such information so I can't really replace it. Regarding the image, I'm not sure if a free image of Asiah exists, but I'll look for one in the meantime. – actuall7 (talk | contrib) 03:32, 23 October 2025 (UTC) [reply ]
- @Actuall7 I see. The article now passes the GA criteria. You can add literal translations to non-Malay words following MOS:MOS, and you can look for a free image in your leisure. I'll wait for some hours so we can discuss anything to improve the article here. RFNirmala (talk) 05:58, 23 October 2025 (UTC) [reply ]
- Thanks for passing the article! Was wondering if you had any suggestions for a possible DYK hook? – actuall7 (talk | contrib) 07:10, 23 October 2025 (UTC) [reply ]
- @Actuall7 I'll have to let you decide since you know the topic the most. Personally, I find the HMV executive teaching Asiah how to open a bank account, Asiah's singing for Japanese soldiers, or her age and reaction to receiving the Cultural Medallion interesting. Criteria 1
[edit ]- Wikilink the Singaporean dollar in the first instance. See [MOS:$]].
- Done
- You can use {{lang}}, {{translation}}, or {{literal translation}} for nonn-English words and titles such as Tiga Serumpun or Pelangi. Do these titles have interlanguage links? See MOS:LANG.
- Done, have added {{literal translation}} for the Malay terms; did not find any interlanguage links.
- Is alongside other artistes a misspell?
- An artiste is "a public performer, especially of song or dance" (according to Wiktionary), and is the word used in the reference which is why I included it.
Criteria 2
[edit ]- Passes copyvio
- No mention of Mat Yoyo inn reference 1.
- Removed.
- Spot check all well
Criteria 3
[edit ]- Can you tell more about Allanby Road? Did she live with her family?
- Not much on her early life can be found in the sources, but have expanded on it a little.
- Do you know if Radio malaya has a wikilink? Is it related to Radio Televisyen Malaysia
- Linked it to Radio Televisyen Malaysia.
- What is the Pathé label?
- After researching, it appears to be related to Pathé Records (China), and I have linked it as such.
- You need to provide a reference that certifies that the Pathe label is that one in particular to avoid original research. I haven't verified that in the website version of the "Masters of the Arts" reference. Have you tried checking Weintraub et al?
- Have now added a note explaining the Pathé label. Also, it was the other Pathé Records, whoops.

- You can specify the territories they went to for mission in Borneo.
- Added.
- Can you explain "Standard 7" for non-Singaporean readers? I understand if you choose not to, but this can help provide more context and info.
- Standard 7 just refers to the highest final year of secondary schooling, however, I'm not sure how I would cite that.
- If there's any Wikipedia page that discusses the schooling in Singapore at that time, we can link it. But this is just optional and we can let it as is. Done
Criteria 4
[edit ]- I can easily pass this later
Criteria 5
