To contact bureaucrats to alert them of an urgent issue, please post below.
For sensitive matters, you may contact an individual bureaucrat directly by e-mail.
You may use this tool to locate recently active bureaucrats.

The Bureaucrats' noticeboard is a place where items related to the Bureaucrats can be discussed and coordinated. Any user is welcome to leave a message or join the discussion here. Please start a new section for each topic.

This is not a forum for grievances. It is a specific noticeboard addressing Bureaucrat-related issues. If you want to know more about an action by a particular bureaucrat, you should first raise the matter with them on their talk page. Please stay on topic, remain civil, and remember to assume good faith. Take extraneous comments or threads to relevant talk pages.

If you are here to report that an RFA or an RFB is "overdue" or "expired", please wait at least 12 hours from the scheduled end time before making a post here about it. There are a fair number of active bureaucrats; and an eye is being kept on the time remaining on these discussions. Thank you for your patience.

Desysop Question (Menchi)

Menchi (t · th · c · del · cross-wiki · SUL · edit counter · pages created (xtools · sigma) · non-automated edits · BLP edits · · · · logs (blocks · rights · moves) · rfar · spi · cci) (assign permissions)(acc · ap · ev · fm · mms · npr · pm · pc · rb · te · taiv)

Hey, this user hasn't made a single edit in over 2 years, shouldn't they have been desysoppped for inactivity per WP:INACTIVITY (a year ago!)? Isaac Oscar 06:57, 1 May 2026 (UTC) Reply

See user logs. They somewhat regularly do speedy deletions which count as logged administrative actions. Left guide (talk) 07:03, 1 May 2026 (UTC) Reply
Woops I'm dumb, I only checked their "contributions". Isaac Oscar 07:36, 1 May 2026 (UTC) Reply
WP:INACTIVITY is tracked via bot reports and manual assessment thereafter, so there usually isn't a reason to raise them at BN. Deadminship for cause can be requested via WP:RECALL. --qedk (t c) 10:24, 1 May 2026 (UTC) Reply
Yeah, which is why I was surprised when I found Menchi (I thought maybe there was a bug in the bot, or their inactivity was being deliberately allowed for some reason).
Starting a WP:RECALL seemed like overkill for what could've simply been a mistake (in this case the mistake was mine as well as User:SDZeroBot's, see Wikipedia:Database reports/Inactive users with advanced permissions) Isaac Oscar 10:32, 1 May 2026 (UTC) Reply
I think the bot should be working as intended, from Wikipedia:Database reports/Inactive users with advanced permissions: "Three groups - administrator [...] specify that an "administrative action" (the first two) or "logged action" (the last) suffices in lieu of an edit. That's not checked for. (emphasis mine) It's just not designed to check for all conditions. Kind Regards Squawk7700 (talk) 21:55, 1 May 2026 (UTC) Reply
And it can't reasonably do so. (nb, I wrote that query.) Distinguishing whether a logged action is administrator-only or not is quite nontrivial - there were plenty of nonadministrators with entries in the deletion log even before we exacerbated it with extendedmover, for instance. It's also conceivable that an admin could make an administrative action that either doesn't generate a log entry at all, or one that can't be seen in the public database replicas. —Cryptic 01:50, 2 May 2026 (UTC) Reply

Desysop request (Ezhiki)

Ezhiki (t · th · c · del · cross-wiki · SUL · edit counter · pages created (xtools · sigma) · non-automated edits · BLP edits · · · · logs (blocks · rights · moves) · rfar · spi · cci) (assign permissions)(acc · ap · ev · fm · mms · npr · pm · pc · rb · te · taiv)

When I found myself in life circumstances which no longer allowed me to devote as much time to Wikipedia as I was used to, never in my dreams had I envisioned the circumstances would last as long as they have. So now, ten years later, I feel that voluntarily putting down the tools is the only fair option. If the circumstances change (as I hope they would eventually), I'll be seeking to re-engage with the project and the community, but for now please remove my admin bit.—Ëzhiki (Igels Hérissonovich Ïzhakoff-Amursky) (yo?); May 4, 2026; 12:50 (UTC)
