Janakiraman Yuvaraj (born July 14, 1981) is an Indian cinematographer who works predominantly in the Telugu film industry. He is known for his work in films such as Krishna Gaadi Veera Prema Gaadha (2016), LIE (2017), Maestro (2021), Vaathi (2023) and Biker (2026).[1]

Early life

J. Yuvaraj was born in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India to D. Janakiraman and J. Chandrika.[2]

Career

He began an important phase of his career as an assistant to cinematographer R. Rathnavelu. Under his guidance, he gained valuable experience and worked on films such as Enthiran, 1: Nenokkadine, and Vaaranam Aayiram.[2]

J. Yuvaraj began his career in the film industry working in technical departments before transitioning into cinematography. He made his debut as a cinematographer with the Telugu film Krishna Gaadi Veera Prema Gaadha (2016), directed by Hanu Raghavapudi. The film brought him initial recognition for its visual presentation.[3]

He subsequently worked on LIE (2017), a romantic action film.[4] Over the years, he has worked on films across multiple genres in Telugu cinema.

He continued delivering impactful visuals in films such as Savyasachi [5] (2018), Sreekaram [6] (2021), Maestro [7] (2021), Bangarraju [8] (2022), and Vaathi [9] (2023), Extra Ordinary Man [10] (2023), Anaganaga Oka Raju (2026)[11] , Nari Nari Naduma Murari (2026), strengthening his position in the industry.

In 2026, he achieved major commercial success with Biker ,[12] a high-octane motocross sports drama, where his cinematography played a crucial role in elevating the racing sequences and emotional storytelling.[1] [13]
