This is the pronunciation key for IPA transcriptions of Albanian on Wikipedia.
It provides a set of symbols to represent the pronunciation of Albanian in Wikipedia articles, and example words that illustrate the sounds that correspond to them. Integrity must be maintained between the key and the transcriptions that link here; do not change any symbol or value without establishing consensus on the talk page first.

  1. 1 2 The contrast between flapped r and trilled rr is the same as in Spanish. English does not phonemically have either sound.
  2. The letter ç is sometimes written ch due to technical limitations or because of its use in English for the same sound and its analogy to the other digraphs xh, sh, and zh. Usually, it is written simply c or, more rarely, q, with the context resolving any ambiguities.
