There are many logos and trademarks in the United States that are not protected by copyright because they are below the threshold of originality required for copyright protection. There are some cases that even logos and trademarks that have been judged to be copyrighted in foreign countries have also been judged not to be copyrighted in the United States. Brazil

There are some court cases related to threshold of originality in Brazil. According to one study, and the court decisions contained in it, the concept of creativity in Brazil is much more strict and exacting than in the United States, and consequently the threshold of originality is considerably higher than the United States, which is the general reference in Commons.
