Declined prod. The only added source was world athletics database. Fails WP:SPORTSCRIT, WP:NOLY and WP:NATH. LibStar (talk) 22:43, 19 March 2025 (UTC) [reply ]

- Redirect to Athletics at the 1996 Summer Olympics – Men's 200 metres where his sixth place finish in a preliminary heat is recorded. A stand-alone article can't be supported, because there is a complete failure to satisfy WP:SPORTBASIC, prong 5, which mandates: "All sports biographies must include at least one reference to a source providing significant coverage of the subject, excluding database sources." (Emphasis added.) Cbl62 (talk) 00:24, 22 March 2025 (UTC) [reply ]
- Redirect per the word "must" as outlined above, and lack of achievements. Geschichte (talk) 17:36, 24 March 2025 (UTC) [reply ]
- Keep, bearing in mind the community consensus trend is against topic-specific notability guidelines in general, so whether or not NSPORT / SPORTBASIC / NSPORTS2022 is met has little relevance to the discussion as compared to the more well-established notability guidelines like WP:N, which can be met by WP:NEXIST.
- Subject clearly went far beyond mere participation by qualifying in several international events over a multi-year timespan for the UAE. As for why sources aren't immediately available, it could be explained by the fact that the subject is represented by different names in other databases, for example I noticed Tilastopaja lists him as "Mohamed Aswad Al-Makhoum" which is also the name the Asian Games used, opening up the possibility that some other name was his most common one (of course along with the fact that UAE newspapers aren't included in most online archives so finding those would take some digging). --Habst (talk) 19:49, 26 March 2025 (UTC) [reply ]
- Redirect to Athletics at the 1996 Summer Olympics – Men's 200 metres : As an AtD since no one has offered evidence of WP:SIGCOV qualifying this subject as notable under WP:GNG/WP:NSPORT. Should SIGCOV be found in the future, the article history will be available to expand as a standalone page. Dclemens1971 (talk) 21:30, 26 March 2025 (UTC) [reply ]
- Redirect to Athletics at the 1996 Summer Olympics – Men's 200 metres I'm not against the notion that other sourcing might exist, but is there a compelling reason to think that it will do more than report his participation and results in these events? Given his actual results, they do not appear to be the type that newspapers of the era would devote resources to expand on a personal background story. A redirect still allows the possibility that should such sources eventually turn out to exist, a stand alone article can exist and a name search will still turn up participation at the Olympics.
