I'm sorry to say that Struway2 died on 3rd October 2025, after a six month illness. I know they would have liked to thank all those who helped and supported them over many years. They were a keen editor, dedicated to maintaining the quality and integrity of football-related articles. I'm sure others will take this forward but sadly it will have to be without the contributions of Struway2.

I'm so sorry to learn and hear about the loss of Struway2 recently as discovered here yesterday.

I would like to say many thanks for what Struway/Struway2 gave to this project, including the Birmingham City F.C. related articles and players, and also showing me some of the right directions when I've started using Wikipedia under my own username, ensuring I never do that sort of thing again as I gained more experience using this site.

I'm also sending my special thanks to the person who had authorised access to this account to update the health notices at the top of the user and user talk pages of Struway2 minutes ago.

  • Rest in peace, Struway. We never had a direct collaboration here, but it is obvious that your work and contributions are testament and legacy for themselves, and that you will be more than missed. My condolences to all who loved you, and who were loved by you. — Sundostund mppria (talk / contribs) 10:46, 24 November 2025 (UTC) Reply

On January 2014, Struway2 added the link William Ross (footballer) on the 47th statement in the list of "Did you know..." statements. The article was titled like that but was correctly titled William Ross (footballer, born 1874) in 2018. Therefore, I think that William Ross (footballer) should be changed to William Ross (footballer, born 1874) which was the article Struway2 linked nearly 12 years ago. The article Leslie Wilcox (footballer) has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Person did not exist, newspaper sources and other sources confirm that this is a fictious individual and the correct person is https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dick_Wilcock

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion based on established criteria.

If the proposed deletion has already been carried out, you may request undeletion of the article at any time.
