Thriller (disambiguation) → Thriller — Thriller redirects here. There seem to be multiple common usages for it and the thriller redirect direction seems controversial so... —Simply south 22:31, 20 May 2007 (UTC) Reply

– Per Pageviews, the genre Thriller a daily average of 512, where as the disambiguation Thriller page has a daily average of 48. Since the former page got more daily average views than the latter, I’d say we move ‘Thriller (genre)’ to ‘Thriller’, and the disambiguation page ‘Thriller’ to ‘Thriller (disambiguation)’ per WP:PRIMARYTOPIC. - Why are you comparing the pageviews of those pages to ones of random pages? I do not believe that is the correct way to determine a primary topic by usage. Thanks, 1isall (he/him) (talk | contribs) 05:29, 31 December 2025 (UTC) Reply
- Anyways, WikiNav shows that people are actually going after Michael Jackson's album and song more. So, starting on a bad note for usage. The genre might have some significance, but just close to that of said other topics. Maybe there shouldn't be a primary topic after all. So I say oppose. - Oppose between the MJ album, titular song from that album, and genre, there's no primary topic. Skynxnex (talk) 06:05, 31 December 2025 (UTC) Reply
- That's exactly what I was saying. Thanks, 1isall (he/him) (talk | contribs) 13:21, 31 December 2025 (UTC) Reply

- The less scary version of what could be the primary. Aside from that, Oppose, since disamb does the honors for many equally popular topics. Randy Kryn (talk) 15:07, 31 December 2025 (UTC) Reply
- Oppose even Thriller film gets more views than Thriller (genre), demonstrating the necessity of the dismabiguation. BrechtBro (talk) 18:32, 31 December 2025 (UTC) Reply
- Oppose the Michael Jackson album has 60,867 views and the song has 14,139 compared with only 8,750[] for the genre so although the genre is probably primary by long-term significance is isn't by usage. Crouch, Swale (talk) 20:46, 2 January 2026 (UTC) Reply
- Oppose The film genre makes this a non-starter. ᴢxᴄᴠʙɴᴍ (ᴛ) 06:19, 4 January 2026 (UTC) Reply
