Sonu Nigam (born July 30, 1973) is a Bollywood film singer, born in Haryana, India. He modelled his singing style after Mohammad Rafi.

Nigam's first major song was Acchha Sila Diya tune mere pyaar kaa" from the movie Bewafaa Sanam. His big break came in 1997 with the film Border, directed by J.P. Dutta. The film was scored by Anu Malik and the lyrics were written by Javed Akhtar. Nigam's duet with Roop Kumar Rathod, from the film Border, is especially memorable. He tried his hand at acting as well, but none of the movies in which he acted were successful at the box office. Since then, Nigam has sung in many Bollywood movies. He also sings duets with fellow Bollywood playback singers Alka Yagnik and Udit Narayan. Since 2004 he has participated as a judge in Indian Idol, further endearing him to the Indian masses.
