I heard on the news that once they pass the letter W on the naming system, the plan is to use the greek alphabet, e.g. Hurricane Alpha, Hurricane Beta. They also claimed that this has never been employed before: there have never been more than 21 storms that reached hurricane status in a given year. Can anyone else verify this?
