The Timbuktu Triangle, not to be confused with Timbuktu, Mali was an enclave of Borno State, Nigeria. The enclave was one of the 4 strong holds of Boko Haram, The other three were Sambisa Forest, the Mandara Mountain and the Lake Chad Region.
History
Troops of Operation Hadin Kai have successfully launched a large-scale clearance operation in the northeast region of Nigeria targeting a notorious terrorist enclave known as the ‘Timbuktu Triangle.’ The operation resulted in the elimination of over 70 insurgents, including three high-ranking commanders.
