"Copycat Kid" is the second segment of the twentieth episode of Recess .

Synopsis[ ]

Mikey starts to copy Vince after Vince saves Mikey's life.

Plot[ ]

While playing baseball, a ball is sent flying towards Mikey who is standing in the field writing poetry on his glove. Vince manages to catch the ball before it hits him. Overjoyed by this action, Mikey proceeds to proudly announce how Vince saved his life. This begins to intrude on Vince as he feels embarrassed by Mikey impeding on his every action and trying to emulate his mannerisms. This eventually gets out of hand when Mikey shows up to school dressed exactly as Vince complete with similar hairstyle. Soon, other kids begin to take after Mikey's depiction of Vince rather than from the real thing.

Vince has a nightmare that Mikey has taken over his family life and finally puts his foot down. The next day at school, Vince shows up dressed as Mikey and begins to mimic all of his mannerisms. This traumatizes Mikey who runs to the bathroom. Vince talks him down by telling him that both are good at their own things and should not have to mimic someone else because they admire them. Mikey agrees and the two go back to their usual ways. The next time the two are playing baseball, Mikey remembers to pay more attention and catches the ball just as it is about to hit Randall. Randall proudly announces that Mikey saved his life, starting the situation over again.
