Grey & wet all morning but great weather by trip's end. Ohio 7 came to
an end and I finished up on US-52.

The day started on US 62 but soon switched to Ohio 7 which follows the
Ohio River as it winds its way south.
Here is a picture of an original G.A.R. Highway sign in Coudersport; a town I visited yesterday. Carol Ruth, one of this trip's "guidin' angels", sent the photo.

Route 6 from Mansfield to Warren then US 62 to Mercer. I was blessed by
getting to look in on a WWII veteran gathering.

A later than hoped for start but a surprise historic town to make up for
it.
Prelude
Not much prelude to this one at all. Sometime during the pre-noon part of
Tuesday, it was determined that this was the time for me to tackle some
problems occurring at a customer site in Pennsylvania. An afternoon of
preparation and I was on the expressway at 5:30. And I stayed on
expressways; First I-71 then I-70. I sped by those Pennsylvania hills as I
hurried to State College, PA. Home of Penn State University and located
virtually at the exact center of the state.
Once I got a bit settled in, I started thinking about a more leisurely drive home. I posed question to the folks at the American Road eGroup and received several responses that touted the pleasures of US Route 6. This was once the longest US highway and Laurel, Don, & Carol all gave glowing recommendations of the Pennsylvania section passing about a hundred miles north of State College. That's good enough for me and that's just about enough planning.
