This bug report will be sent to the Bug-GNU-Emacs mailing list
and the GNU bug tracker at debbugs.gnu.org. Please check that
the From: line contains a valid email address. After a delay of up
to one day, you should receive an acknowledgment at that address.
Please write in English if possible, as the Emacs maintainers
usually do not have translators for other languages.
Please describe exactly what actions triggered the bug, and
the precise symptoms of the bug. If you can, give a recipe
starting from `emacs -Q':
When I save a python file with an incomplete function definition,
i.e. file containing the following lines:
1 def f():
2
3 def g():
4 return null
and then move my cursos to line 2 and press TAB, I get "Arithmetic
Error" which is fixed by M-x set-variable RET python-indent-offset RET 4
RET. This suggests that the auto-detection of the indentation offset is
not working properly.

By experiment, this was fixed in Emacs 24.4. Latest is 25.2.
