Feature request regarding water balance #600

Hello,

I am currently in the hospital, and your app has been incredibly helpful to me. I need to measure my temperature and blood pressure several times a day, and I log everything in the app.

I am receiving a lot of medications through IV drips, and to ensure my kidneys are handling it well, the doctors have asked me to track my fluid balance: how much liquid I drink and how much is excreted.

It would be really great if you could improve the "Water intake" section (or add a new one) to show three totals for the day: the total amount consumed ("in"), the total amount output ("out"), and the resulting balance. It would be similar to the regular Water intake log but with an "in/out" flag or separate counters. The doctors handle the calculations themselves; I just need to be able to tell them the total amounts of fluids taken in and passed out.

Thank you for considering this suggestion!

Sorry to hear about your situation and really happy to see that MediLog is of help 👍

As far as your request is concerned I think the app may already do what you need?
Check out tags in the water settings, you can create input and output tags which will be shown and tracked separately.
The resulting balance I don't do, but that's an interesting addition which I will definitely consider.

I marked tags as experimental because I haven't had time to test it all out and make sure they properly show from input to pdf output. Would welcome your feedback.

Oh, thank you! The tags actually solve my problem perfectly. Calculating totals by tags is exactly what I need.

I have one small follow-up question (maybe it belongs in a different issue, but I'll ask anyway): Is it possible to set a custom start time for the day? The nurses collect their reports in the morning, but the app currently resets at midnight. It would be very helpful to be able to set the time when the daily totals reset, for example, to 7:00 AM.

I got something like this for Blood Pressure, so it can be done. Challenge is that for fluid this will need a lot more work because we got time bound queries all over the place. I'll see what's possible.
