Similar to the geometry window that shows when resizing, it would be super useful to have a keybind that shows a menu in that style that shows the current order of the windows, when doing LS+n/LS+p.
Feature Request: Keybind to Show Window Order #112
Hi @bawin
This is interesting -- what information are you after? Which layer the window is in, and/or something else? I need to add this information to cowident(1) as it happens. Is this not good enough for what you had in mind here?
Thinking about this a bit more, I think we could add this as a titlebar_format option.
I just realized I forgot to respond to this one. What I had envisioned was almost like a visual alt+tab keybind which shows the order. I like the way that the window order doesn't change when switching windows, but having the "layer list" I guess would be super helpful in getting used to the workflow change.
Would augmenting the geometry-window format with this solve this? That is, the window which pops up when you're resizing or moving a window? Equally, I need to add it to cowident...
Do you mean adding it into the window that shows the window size when resizing? That could work, if it gets added as a command, then I can poke around with it to see what I can come up with.
