We need to run database migrations, comparing the currently-live schema to the schema under test.

Long-term, it would be good to have some code to do this automatically.

Short-term, the best way would probably be:

  • Dump the prod db and load the dump in a test environment (e.g. locally)
  • Run the migration in the test environment manually verify that it worked
  • Do the same thing, in production.
