Hi, thanks for reporting this!
Could you make sure that "Apply theme to other users' profiles" is turned on? It should remove gradients and colours from user profiles.
You can find it in Settings -> Appearance -> Theme.

On that note, going into this settings page did make me realise the theme picker isn't blocked anymore. Thank you for that :P

I enabled the "Apply theme to other users" option and it helped a bit, but the gradient did not completely disappear

Great, thank you for confirming. I'll look into that when I can!
No promises of an ETA however, because I don't think any of my friends use this gradient. Might be I could bug one of them to apply one sometime down the road.
