Change the default color scheme #5

I've always thought the default color scheme in Helix was atrocious. My config always sets it to catppuccin_macchiato which feels a lot more "neutral" to me.

Maybe something to consider!

it would be kind of nice if the default scheme had background unset imo, works better for people like me who have transparent terminal windows

I'm not against that either, that would be more in-line with the terminal settings!👍

I don't have any strong preferences here, maybe we can start a poll on the Zulip?

I think the most compatible option would probably be a 16-color scheme, which would fit both:

  • uses the user's preferred terminal colours
  • does not impose a color-scheme to the user

(fwiw I think the purple theme is ok)
